Urethane Cement
Urethane Cement is a high performance cementitious based coating material with a urethane binder. It is designed to perform in harsh environments such as beverage warehouses, food processing facilities and chemical facilities. Also referred to as polyurethane mortar, cementitious urethane, urethane mortar, or urethane concrete, this material better withstands high temperature fluctuations, chemical contamination and high moisture content or vapor emissions, than traditional coatings.
A urethane cement floor system combines the best attributes of many other resin floor systems. While they aren’t cheap, their performance isn’t easily matched. These floors tenaciously bond to properly prepared substrates and are able to withstand high moisture vapor. This makes them idea for installs over green concrete. The self-leveling trowel applied material can be installed over tile, brick, quarry tile, and even over plywood substrates. Floors range in thickness from 1/8” to 3/8”. The heavy aggregate content also makes them extremely durable.
Engineered to withstand rapid and deep thermal cycling, these floors will hold up to hot pressure washes, hot grease spills, and flash freezing, where thermal shock would cause other materials to fail. The rapid cure time of urethane cement installations allow for forklift traffic in as little as 24 hours, making them ideal for quick return to service jobs.
Top-coats can be customized for specific site conditions and include epoxies, polyurethanes, and polyaspartics. Unlike MMA (methyl methacrylates) products, these systems are non-flamable and low VOC. They also meet ADA, USDA, FDA, and OSHA requirements.
